KOTA KINABALU: Nur Jauhar Foundation (YNJ) today contributed over 300,000 face masks to the front liners in Sabah in order to ensure adequate supply to those working tirelessly to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The aid was presented by Sabah Governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, who is also YNJ patron, accompanied by his wife-cum- YNJ adviser Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni at an event held at Istana Negeri today.
The face masks supplies were distributed to Sabah State Health Department, Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters, Armed Forces, Sabah Immigration Department, Malaysia Volunteer Corps (Rela), Sabah Information Department and RTM Sabah.
Speaking to reporters after the event, Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said the face masks supplies were among much-needed protective equipment by the medical front liners in the state.
Christina also received 1,000 units of personal protective equipment (PPE) from the Foundation.
Meanwhile, Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Zaini Jass also thanked YNJ for contributing face masks to the policemen on duty during the implementation of the movement control order (MCO).
Expressing his gratitude and appreciation, Fifth Infantry Division Major General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan said the move was a gesture to inspire military personnel to carry out their duties with dedication.
