LABUAN: Sabah-based Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Labuan division today hailed the appointment its chief Datuk Rozman Isli as the party’s supreme council members.
Labuan Warisan secretary Rosli Awang Damit said the committee members alongside the party divisional leaders have confidence in Rozman’s leadership owing to his two-term service as a member of parliament.
“We will constantly pledge our support and readiness to work cooperatively and constructively with Rozman as Labuan Warisan chief.
“We are certain under his leadership, he will guide the Labuan division towards a credible party with people and government supports, and be able to voice Labuan needs to the party’s central leadership,” he told Bernama.
Rozman’s appointment was announced by Warisan president who is also Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal on Sunday.
Others appointed as supreme council member were Sabah education and innovation minister Datuk Yusof Yacob, who will serve as Warisan’s Information chief, and also Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Mohamaddin Ketapi.
Rosli said the Rozman’s appointment was timely as the party’s central leadership felt the need for the Labuan’s voice be heard within the party.
“We believe the Warisan Labuan being a PH friendly-partner will be able to contribute towards the country’s political stability having more than 200, 000 registered members with 26 divisions in Sabah and one in Labuan and more than 700 branches in the two regions,” he said.
Labuan Warisan vice chief Kula Kamis urged the fullest cooperation from all branches to Rozman now that he has been given the trust to sit in the party’s supreme council.
“We want to congratulate Rozman on his appointment, the trust has been given, it is high time to work together for the people and strengthen the party,” he said.
