KOTA KINABALU: The State Cabinet will be briefed by the Immigration Department on the details of the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) proposal next week.
“Matters on PSS were discussed in the cabinet yesterday and it has been decided that relevant authorities, especially the Immigration Department, should brief the State Cabinet on the details of their proposal,” Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau told a press conference at Wisma Kewangan here, on Thursday.
He stated that questions on the IMM13, Kad Burung-Burung, and Census certificates, as well as their legality, will also be clarified in the briefing next week.
“The cabinet will decide (after the briefing) on how the whole thing will be governed. What happened in the past is that the immigration department dealt with documents such as IMM13, but Kad Burung-Burung was initiated by the previous government,”
“Who these Kad Burung-Burung holders are, and how many of them are there, as well as the legality of their documents, are questions that I think both the people and the cabinet alike are curious about,” he added.
Madius also reminded that the PSS would only be issued in June 2020 and that there is still time for the government to look into it.
