Sepanggar MP donates salary to those hit hard by MCO

Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman will be donating his salary as member of Parliament to help the people in his constituency who are affected by the enforcement of Movement Control Order (MCO).

The Sepanggar MP in a statement today said he had decided to donate his entire salary for this month and following months for as long as the MCO is imposed.

Mohd Azis said he was fully aware of the hardships faced by the people in his constituency who have lost their source of income during the MCO period.

“I dont’t think I deserve to receive the salary as I’m unable to carry out my MP duties and visit villages in Sepanggar during the period. It will be more appropriate if I donate the salary to those in need.

“Even though the amount is not big, it still can be used to buy food supplies and basic necessities which will be distributed to the affected people,” he said.

Mohd Azis also called on the private sector, corporate bodies and individuals to come forward to donate to the needy.

He said the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency service centre would serve as a collection centre for all the donated items and those who wish to donate can contact his officers at 010-547 2921 (Raini); 014-678 7800 (Redzwan); 016-840 6511 (Jasni) and 011-1023 1002 (Hadi Murba).
