SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) today carried out a disinfection process at the Taman Harmoni People Housing Project (PPR) area here, after it reported the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district.
Sandakan JBPM chief Martin Thomas said nine of its members were involved in the process to disinfect the whole area comprising 10 blocks of flats.
“We have received disinfectant products to be distributed to every household so that the residents can clean their own unit.
“We, on the other side, will focus on doing mist-disinfection around the PPR area, including the roads,” he told reporters after receiving the disinfectant products from Sandakan MP Vivian Wong, here today.
The Movement Control Order (MCO) had been enhanced at the PPR area since last Saturday after five of its residents were tested positive for COVID-19 and were currently receiving treatment at the Duchess of Kent Hospital, while some 20 others were quarantined at a quarantine centre here.
