Sabahans Can Apply for ‘YES CHINA’ Scholarships; Try [email protected]

KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian students who want to apply for “Scholarships for Youth of Excellence Scheme of China” (YES CHINA) can do so at the Office of the Consulate General of China here.

The Government of China is offering several scholarships to qualified students to study the Masters Program in China, according to a statement issued by the Consul General here Monday.

The statement said scholarship provides financial support to outstanding youths from worldwide who are keen to pursue a Master degree in China and is open to applicants from 56 developing countries.

It is also part of the China Government’s long-term efforts in promoting mutual exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries.

For the academic year 2017/2018, the Ministry of Education of China has entrusted 7 leading universities of China which includes the Peking University with 8 Master degree programs (to be taught in English), namely The Master of Laws (L.L.M.) Program in Chinese Law; International Program on Master of Public Health (IMPH).

The others include Master of International Economic Cooperation; Master of China Studies; The L.L.M. Program in International Economic Law; MBA Program; The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Master of International Finance (AMIF) program; and Master of One-Belt-Road Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering (MOSI).

Malaysians living in Sabah who are keen to pursue any of the abovementioned program are thus urged to submit their application for the YES CHINA Program for the academic year 2017/2018, by logging on to the “CSC Chinese Government Scholarship Information System” before April 12, 2017.

The interested applicants may refer to the instructions on the Consulate General’s website, prepare the application materials as required and e-mail the scanned copies to the Consulate General at [email protected]
