Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Asks For Time To Decide On CM’s Post

KOTA KINABALU: Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin has asked for time to decide the candidate to be appointed as the new Chief Minister of Sabah, according to Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

When asked how long will the decision be made, Bung Moktar said, “as soon as possible.”

Earlier, Bung Moktar and Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN) Datuk Hajiji Noor, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Parti Bersatu Sabah secretary-general Datuk Jahid Jahim were granted an audience with Juhar at Istana Negeri.

Meanwhile, Jahid, when asked about the outcome of the meeting with Juhar, said it was “a good discusson.”

Hajiji and Jeffrey, however, reserved their comments.

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) won a simple majority to form a new state government after the state election yesterday.

GRS won 38 seats, surpassing the 37 seats needed for a simple majority in the 73 seats State Assembly.
