KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah Structure Plan 2033, which was approved by the state cabinet in June, will provide a world-class comprehensive environment in various sectors of development.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the environment involved living, working, learning, visiting and investing.
He said the structure plan was very important for the long-term development in Sabah and would be formulated through strategic policies to determine the direction and pattern of the state’s physical development in the next 20 years.
“The people of Sabah will enjoy the high quality of living in a well-managed environment with sustainable connections, transportation and economic systems,” he said when opening the State Planning Conference 2016 in conjunction with the World Town Planning Day here Thursday.
Also present were Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin and state local government minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Meanwhile, Hajiji said the Sabah Structure Plan 2033 was an improvement to the existing plan and would guide the future development of the state.
He said among the sectors that were taken into account when formulating the development plan were the housing, commercial and tourism.
With the plan, the development of various sectors in Sabah would be more organised and projecting the good image of Sabah, he added.
