KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah state government is working hand-in-hand with the Federal government to improve information and communications technology (ICT) facilities in the state in meeting current demands, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

He said it had become a fact that today’s generation was a digital native one (born in the digital era) and thus various programmes had been implemented by the state government to support the rise of entrepreneurs in the technology sectors.

He said this in his opening speech for the state’s #YOUCANDUIT campaign here Saturday. The text was read out by Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah.

Also present were Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and Malaysian Digital Economic Corporation chairman Tan Sri Sidek Hassan.

Musa said that he believed that the campaign via its eUsahawan and eRezeki programmes could open up wider path for low-income families to generate income via the digital world and significantly contribute in raising the people’s socio-economic level.

Concurring with him, Sidek urged the public to grab the available opportunities offered within the digital economic realm.
