Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal Calls On Sultan Of Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Shafie bin Haji Apdal visited the kingdom of Brunei on Thursday, 21 June, 2018 and was granted an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien at the Istana Nurul Iman.

Accompanying the Chief Minister was his wife, Datin Seri Panglima Shuryani binti Shuaib who was also granted an audience with Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam at the Istana Nurul Iman on Thursday.

The purpose of the cordial visit was to pay a courtesy call on Their Majesties in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

The Sultanate, via The Brunei Investment Agency, has always been keen on investments in Sabah and it is involved in an integrated livestock project in the Keningau region.

The new Parti Warisan Sabah government, headed by Shafie, is keen to attract investments from foreign companies, including those from Brunei, as it seeks to speed business ventures that would provide employment opportunities.
