KOTA KINABALU – Malaysians should continue spreading goodwill and express words of kindness, especially with Chinese New Year around the corner.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Sabah is blessed with people of various ethnicity, beliefs and religions and they have brought Sabah and Malaysia together as a peaceful developing country.

“Unity and harmony are the country’s pillars of progress and growth and against this backdrop, the people work together in finding common values that bind them together as Malaysians,” he said when launching the 2017 Chinese New Year carnival organised by City Hall and the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) here Monday night.

“It is my hope that we will continue to spread goodwill and express words of kindness to each other and I hope this Chinese New Year will bring more harmony, economic progress and prosperity,” he said.

Musa also urged the Chinese in Sabah to continue giving their full support to the government and to assist in further developing the state.

“I believe that the political stability, unity, harmony and tolerance that we are able to portray here in Sabah will help towards national political stability and unity,” Musa said.
