KOTA KINABALU: Lotteries Corporation Sdn Bhd (Diriwan 88) recently presented donations totalling RM14,545.90 to two selected non-governmental organizations namely, the Malaysian Red Crescent Sabah and the Special Olympics Sabah.

The said amount was equally split between the two organizations with each of them receiving RM7,272.95.

Receiving the donations from Diriwan’s official Donny Kong were Datuk Haji Baisul Khan, the Deputy Chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent Sabah, while the Special Olympics Sabah was represented by its Secretary Ms. Lam Saw Yin, in two separate occasions.

According to Kong, the said donations were made possible through donations collected from the public through donation boxes placed at all the 40 Diriwan outlets throughout Sabah.

“We at Diriwan would like to thank all our valued customers for their consistent interest in supporting this fund-raising to support our non-profit organizations in Sabah.

“Your contribution would make a difference to the lives of all vulnerable people all over Sabah,” he said in a statement issued here.

Meanwhile, on behalf of their organizations, both Baisul and Lam thanked the public and Diriwan for the donation.

“The money raised will be used to help fund our projects in helping out flood or fire victims and that will also help us to continue to offer the best possible assistance to those who are in needs at difficult times,” said Baisul.

As for Lam, she acknowledged that Diriwan has been an ardent supporter for Special Olympics Sabah all these years.

“Every year, Diriwan has been able to help raise more money for Special Olympics Sabah that are needed to run our projects for special needs children in the state.

“We’re truly grateful for the generosity of our public, whose support is critical to our success,” she said.
