KOTA KINABALU: The 19th Innovation and Design competition or PROJEK 19 can serve as a platform for polytechnic students to showcase their skills and creativity in the technical field.
Sabah Education and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob said the competition was also in line with the agenda to make polytechnic as the leading Technical Education and Vocational Training institution in the country.
“The competition also reflects the commitment of the Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic as the organiser in inculcating a culture of creativity and innovation among students,” he said when officiating the competition here today.
His speech text was read out by Education and Innovation assistant minister Jenifer Lasimbang.
Meanwhile, Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic director Zainab Othman in his speech said a total of 225 Polytechnic of Kota Kinabalu students took part in the competition.
She said the participants comprised fifth semester diploma students from the Civil Engineering Department, the Electrical Engineering Department, the Mechanical Engineering Department, the Commerce Department and the Tourism and Hospitality Department.
“The winners of the competition will represent the Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic at a higher-level competition,” she said.
