Preschool Shuts After Suspect Covid Case

KOTA KINABALU: A preschool pupil at SK Penampang is believed to have contracted the Covid-19 virus infection.

The preschool near here has since been closed for two weeks.

State Education Department director Mistirine Radin said 50 preschoolers and two teachers were now waiting for the health authorities to say whether they have to undergo home quarantine or screening.

“For now, the preschool will be closed for sanitisation and quarantine until Aug 18,” she said.

Health officials have yet to release the latest number of cases in the state as of 4.30pm today.

Covid-19 cases remained at 400 until yesterday with 16 patients comprising five in Penampang, four in Kota Kinabalu, two each in Sandakan and Tawau and one each in Papar, Kota Belud and Tuaran still undergoing treatment for the infection.
