KOTA MARUDU – Parti Warisan Sabah Warisan would work together with other local opposition parties, particularly the United Sabah Alliance (or Gabungan Sabah).

Warisan Youth chief, Datuk Aziz Jamman put to rest concerns over how the young and untried leaders could work together with the likes of Parti Cinta Sabah, headed by Tamparuli’s Datuk Wilfred Bumburing, STAR led by Bingkor assemblyman, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and SAPP led by former hief minister, Datuk Yong Teck Lee, as well as Parti Harapan helmed by Datuk Lajim Haji Ukin.

“But we need to be careful because the leaders of some of these parties were instrumental in causing the downfall of PBS in 1994 when they leaped over to Barisan Nasional.

“Do we want the same thing to happen to us again?

“We are prepared to work with other opposition parties but we must exercise great caution,” he said at a function at Kampung Mangin here on Friday night.

But he quickly pointed out that the immediate aim for Warisan now is to unite all the people of Sabah, all its races.

In reference to the party logo, he said: “Join us in this ship so we can sail together on a course towards a great and progressive Sabah. The two hands joined together signify the east and west of Sabah uniting as one.

“When we are united, the ill winds from the north, south or any direction will not be able to overturn us.”
