Police Solve Labuan Cable Theft, Break-Ins; Six People Arrested

LABUAN – The Labuan police have solved high-profile cable theft and house and car break-in cases involving RM138,500, with the arrest of six people within a week.

The cable thefts involved Petronas Methanol Labuan (PML) and Telekom Malaysia properties worth of RM105,000 committed between Jan 4 and 16, at PML warehouse and near bushes in Pulau Buah.

Its chief, Supt Adzhar Othman said the suspects were facilitating investigations into the thefts.

Another case involved house and car break-ins committed by recidivists for whom warrants of arrest were issued, including for drug trafficking and abuse cases.

Adzhar said the suspects who are relative had broken into two houses at Taman Pearl and Taman Ruby in Kg Sg Bangat and escaped with stolen items worth RM33,500 between Dec 8 and 29 last year.

“They had stolen valuable items such as jewellery, Rado and Tissot branded watches, laptop, Apple Ipad, Gucci and LV branded handbags, grasscutter and handphones,” he added.
