PKR Rubbishes ‘Inside Job’ Allegations

KOTA KINABALU: There were no private meetings between Inanam assemblyman Kenny Chua and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said this in dismissing as fake a picture making the rounds on social media, alleging that defections in the Sabah state government was an “inside job” by PKR.

He was quoted as saying in a Star report that there was only a general meeting between the state MPs, assemblymen and party leaders with Anwar.

“It was organised and attended by Sabah PKR chairman Datuk Christina Liew herself. It is not a private meeting, and it wasn’t from two weeks ago as claimed.

“PKR disagrees with any form of treachery, what more a backdoor effort to bring down the Sabah state government.

“That is why Chua was sacked,” said Fahmi, adding, “don’t spread slander.”

The picture in question was taken on July 3 and was posted by Anwar himself on Instagram.

Chua was sacked by PKR on July 30 after it emerged that he was among those supporting former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman in his effort to topple the Sabah government.
