Over 25,000 Food Baskets Distributed In 27 Districts In Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 125,847 food baskets have been distributed to the people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 27 districts in Sabah as of today, said state Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Ir Shahelmey Yahya.

Shahelmey in a statement said the districts include Lahad Datu, Semporna, Kunak, Tawau, Sandakan, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, Papar, Tuaran, Kalabakan, Ranau and Tambunan.

Other districts were Kota Belud, Beaufort, Kuala Penyu, Kota Marudu, Tenom, Kinabatangan, Keningau, Kudat, Pitas, Sipitang, Nabawan, Beluran, Telupid and Tongod.

“Today, a total of 8,159 food baskets were distributed in 13 districts,” he said.

From the total, 4,598 food baskets were distributed in Semporna, followed by Sandakan (2,084), Tuaran (913), Kunak (150), Ranau (145), Nabawan (81), Kinabatangan (60), Lahad Datu (40), Papar (36), Tongod (20), Kota Kinabalu (15), Telupid (10) and Putatan (7), he said.
