One New Covid-19 Case In KK

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah registered one new Covid-19 case here, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 373.

The 66th case in the district involved a non-Malaysian inmate detected following screening at a lock-up.

Kota Kinabalu now has the highest number of Covid-19 patients with three active cases, followed by Tuaran with two cases, and one each in Tawau, Sandakan, Penampang, Kota Belud and Nabawan.

Health and People’s Well-being Minister Datuk Frankie Poon, said Papar is now a green zone district as its last patient recovered and was discharged today.

Total recoveries in the state has increased to 356 with a total of 10 more active cases left.

Meanwhile, Malaysia continued to record a single digit in the daily number of Covid-19 cases with three new cases recorded today.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cumulative number of infections in the country is now 8,643.

Two of the three cases are local transmissions involving non-Malaysians and the sole import case is a Malaysian who returned from Singapore.

A total of 62 more cases have been discharged, bringing the total of nationwide recoveries to 8,437, which also translates to a recovery rate of 97.6 per cent.

The number of active cases is now below 100, with only 85 active cases left left in the country.

No new deaths were recorded and the death toll remained at 121 cases for the 18th consecutive day.
