KOTA BELUD: One more Covid-19 case involving a local in Kota Belud was recorded today, bringing the state’s infection total to 372.
It was learned that Kota Belud’s sixth confirmed case was locally transmitted and detected through a pre-referral screening at the district’s hospital.
In his Facebook account, Health and People’s Well-being Minister Datuk Frankie Poon said one patient in Tuaran had recovered and was discharged today, bringing the total number of recoveries in the state to 353.
Active cases in the state now stand at 12 with Tuaran left with three, two each in Tawau and Kota Kinabalu, and one each in Sandakan, Penampang, Kota Belud, Papar and Nabawan.
Nationwide, 20 more patients had recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged today, bringing the tally of recoveries to 8,354.
Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement disclosed that the number of active cases in the country has decreased to 164.
Meanwhile, only two new cases were recorded today, including the one local transmission in Kota Belud. The other was an imported case reported in Selangor.
The total number of nationwide infections now stands at 8,639.
No fatalities were recorded again today for the 16th day in a row and the death toll remains at 121, including seven in Sabah.
