But the opposition would never acknowledge this, said caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
“They just don’t want to see or accept the fact that we gained a lot of achievements for the state.”
This, he said, included putting an end to the communal land titles introduced by Barisan Nasional, resolving 17 of 21 matters under MA63, obtaining a special federal grant and also introducing a five percent state sales tax on petroleum products.
On opposition claims that they too had been giving out land titles when they were in government, he said there was no doubt they did distribute land titles.
“But they also demolished houses of villagers and grabbed their land in the name of such land being government reserves,” he said.
Shafie said villagers had been applying for the traditional land for decades but that this was never approved.
“Even then, they (opposition) are still asking what we did,” he said.
Shafie said the Warisan Plus government had also pursued matters under MA63 and (former prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad approved 17 out of 21 matters.
“The opposition ruled for decades – what did they do?,” he asked.
