Borneo Today is puzzled with Tengku Fuad Ahmad’s, a lawyer representing former chief minister Musa Aman, clarification over the report appearing in Borneo Today. RE: MUSA AMAN DROPS SUIT AGAINST SHAFIE; FORMER CM ORDERED TO PAY COSTS on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
Firstly, we are curious why there was a need for Fuad to clarify on the news report in the first place. Is he that ignorant
Our report was clear that he Musa had discontinued his Writ action and was ordered by the court to pay costs of RM5,000 to Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
If Fuad was keen to read further then the headlines, the story clearly states that the High Court was also going decide on Sept 3 2018, two applications by the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal to strike out the Originating Summons filed by Musa Aman and Jahid Jahim who are both contending that Musa is the rightful Chief Minister.
It does puzzles us that Fuad, a man of law, could get confused with our report.
There was nothing misleading about our story and all it takes was to read the story in totality.
Borneo Today also spoke to Datuk Douglas Lind, the lawyer acting for Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and he has confirmed that what was published by Borneo Today is accurate.
Several other media, both news portals and print media blindly followed the statement issued by Musa’s lawyer. It is regrettable that the reporters and their editors in particular, had failed to read our report properly.
