Health and People’s Well-being Minister Datuk Frankie Poon said total infections statewide stood at 380.
The six active cases involve four districts with Kota Kinabalu and Nabawan having recorded two cases each while Tuaran and Keningau have one each.
Nationwide, seven new Covid-19 cases were reported today, bringing the total cases in the country to 8,725.
Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham said six out of the seven cases were imported ones – four in Selangor and one each in Kedah and Sarawak – involving two Malaysians and four non-Malaysians.
Another one was a local transmission involving a Malaysian who was a patient under investigation (PUI) of the newly discovered Novgorod cluster in Melaka, which was first traced from a Malaysian who had returned from Russia.
The cluster was identified after a third positive case was detected following close contact screening.
To date, the number of active cases in Malaysia stands at 83, including four being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with three of them requiring ventilator support.
The death toll in the country remains at 122.
