LABUAN: Newly-appointed Parti Warisan Sabah Labuan chapter secretary Rosli Awang Damit is all geared up to serve the local community and ensures the party constantly on track.
The 52-year-old local entrepreneur hoped his would help strengthen the Sabah-based party on the island and strives to take up significant roles in the society.
“It is an important post in the party with great challenges to be together with other party’s leaders to drive the party towards the people’s expectations…we should be thankful for the trust of the party’s leadership in us,” he told reporters upon received the appointment letter from the Labuan Warisan chief Datuk Rozman Isli today.
“Besides making sure the party’s struggle in line with the party’s policy and not against the Register of Society’s (ROS) rules and regulations, I will use my experience as an entrepreneur in the development industry to help contribute in the enhancement of project planning on the island,” he said.
He said the soon-recovery of the island’s oil and gas sector would be among the focus of the Labuan Warisan to help the local entrepreneurs and job seekers to have the business and employment opportunities in the sector.
Harold Lim who was appointed as treasurer said being the appointed treasurer of a political party is a significant responsibility.
“You are in control of your party’s finances and making sure they comply with the party’s referendums…it can sound daunting, but with good organisation, thorough record keeping and up-to-date knowledge of the rules, it can be a rewarding role,” he said.
The newly-appointed information chief Salim Abdul Rahman said an information chief acts as the official representative of their political party.
“The information chief is typically responsible for managing the party’s relationship with the general public…I will do my best to the party’s expectation,” he said.
