Movement Restricted At Rumah Sebastien In Sibu As Two Residents Detected Positive

SIBU: Rumah Sebastian Ngalang Juntan, a longhouse which is located about 15 kilometres from the city centre here, has been subjected to a movement restriction order beginning today after two residents tested positive for COVID-19.

Sibu District Police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the police had received instructions to restrict movements to and from the longhouse with 235 residents for the next two weeks.

According to him, the first round of 20 residents had undergone the COVID-19 screening test on Jan 20.

“Police have installed barrier tapes at the entrance and exit of the longhouse to prevent the residents from leaving their homes during the movement restriction.

“Residents of the longhouse are advised not to cross the police tape until the further instructions are issued from the MOH (Ministry of Health Malaysia),” he told Bernama.
