LABUAN: A 24-year-old motorcyclist from mainland Sabah was killed after his machine collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser at Jalan Tanjung Batu here Sunday night.
The motorcyclist was traveling from downtown towards Membedai when he apparently lost control of his SYM 100cc machine and rammed head-on into the four-wheel drive vehicle near Tiara Hotel around 11.05pm.
Labuan police chief Superintendent Adzhar Othman said the deceased, Jaxmiron Jahilin, hit the vehicle from the opposite lane and was thrown off his bike suffering serious head injuries when he landed on the road.
“He died shortly after the crash and we believe the slippery road condition could be the cause of Jaxmiron to lose control of his machine,” he said. He said the rider was not intoxicated.
The 66-year-old woman driver escaped no injury.
