KOTA KINABALU – A man was killed, while his wife and three children were seriously injured in an incident in Kampung Narandang, Kudat Thursday evening.
Kudat district police chief Supt Douglas Nyeging Taong, when contacted, confirmed the incident which occurred at about 4 pm and that a suspect was apprehended by local residents.
In the incident, Jotin Yojumpin, 42, was found dead with slash wound, believed inflicted using a machete, on the neck.
His wife, Saulin Moridik, 30, and three children, aged 17, 11 and five, had been sent to Kudat Hospital.
In a Bernama report, Douglas said details on the incident and the suspect had yet to be obtained.
It is understood that the assailant, a foreigner, had approached Jotin to ask for money and he turned violent when his requested was turned down.
