The deceased, a Malaysian permanent resident, was found unconscious by a villager passing through the bridge around 11pm and immediately alerted the police.
Acting Labuan police chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said the police could not rule out of any criminal elements that led to his death as the investigation was still ongoing.
“We received a report at 2.56am on the discovery of the body. Upon checked we found a small fire of bushes had taken place near the scene, and the man had been confirmed to have been electrocuted after an autopsy was conducted on him,” he said to Bernama.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old lorry driver was found dead in his bed on Monday morning, believed to have committed suicide by drinking a Cocorex bleach.
The deceased lived in a rented house at SK 36, Kampung Sungai Keling and sources told the police the man was last seen on Saturday (Jan 9).
