TUARAN: After a hectic schedule visiting community leaders in the Tenghilan Mukim recently, Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau and Datin Seri Dr. Jaina Sintian took an opportunity to make a surprise visit to the Santavana Forest Hermitage in Kg. Betutai here.
He was given a personal guided tour of the 40 acres complex by the Abbot himself.
On the centre’s programs and activities, Madius said: “I not only find this centre beautiful and with a peaceful environment, but also very enlightening and I urge those who come to Tuaran not to miss the opportunity to visit this place.
“I am told that the main training provided to the Sangha, the community of monks and nuns, is to concentrate on education and to realize the six unity of spirit which is to live in harmony, without dispute, or disagreement, with concord of practice, understanding and fair sharing of benefits.
“This is a universal teaching which is promoted by every religion albeit on a different mode and discipline.”
Around 100 devotees both local and foreigners are residing at the centre to undergo meditation and education.
