The offer rate is only accorded to those born in Labuan or with address in Labuan as stated in the Malaysian identity card.
Its director Dr Ramli Tahir said the lower was part of the clinic’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the Labuan folks.
“We have heard the people’s grievances over the higher rate of RTK-Ag tests from the local people who wish to travel to the mainland over health and emergency matters or family related-issues that they have to fork out RM180 per test or RM540 for husband, wife and a child.
“We have chewed over it couple months ago and decided not to be taking profit too much but rather our service to the community,” he said today.
Dr Ramli said the cost of bringing the test kit from Peninsula was the culprit to the higher rate of the RTK-Ag tests in Labuan.
“I bring the test kit myself from Peninsula to Labuan, at least I can reduce the transportation charges and offer lower rate to the people here,” he said.
The Klinik and Surgei Bakti’s COVID-19 Test (RTK) RM150 for Labuan Folks was launched on March 27 by jointly launched by Dr Ramli and Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli, with initial operation from 8.30am to 10.30am daily except Sunday and the result will be released within 20 minutes.
Those wishing to undergo the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, the clinic could only conduct for at least six individuals and above and the rate is RM530 per individual and the result is released the next working day.
