LABUAN – The Labuan United Sabah Dusun Association (USDA) is back again with its annual ‘Back to School 2017’ programme, taking 20 under-privileged pupils for shopping at the Emporium Labuan Shopping Mart here Sunday.

The selected children, comprising orphans and asnaf (eligible recipients of zakat), aged three to 14, shopped for shoes and socks, schoolbag, schooling paraphernalia, and were also given some money, for the new school term.

Its chairman, Joe Ragan Sitorus said the programme was carried out under USDA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the less-fortunate members of the society.

“It is one of CSR efforts in reaching out to the less fortunate. We hope the contribution is able to reduce their burden in preparing for the new schooling session, as well as enable the students to concentrate on their studies,” he said in a statement.
