LABUAN: Rainwater accumulated in the low-lying areas of the Labuan town after hours of downpour Saturday night.
The heavy downpour resulted in waterlogging, traffic jams and blocked stretches throughout the town and some villages.
Waterlogging paralysed regular vehicular flow and pedestrian movement around the town, where the water rose slightly above the ankle-level.
Areas affected were Jalan Muhibbah, Tun Mustapha, Jati, opposite Labuan Hotel, Dataran Labuan and the RM12 million Labuan Food Court.
Residents complained about clogged drain that caused the flash floods.
Residents in several housing estates also highlighted the lack of maintenance on the monsoon drains that caused the rainwater accumulated.
