LABUAN – The Federation of Asian Institute of Management Alumni Associations, Inc (FAIM), in collaboration with the Labuan Development Foundation, will host the Asian Business Conference (ABC 2016) in Labuan from Nov 10-11.

The event this year will cover issues relevant to the ASEAN economic integration.

In a statement Tuesday, FAIM said the conference, themed, “Labuan: Connecting Asian Economies”, was also aimed at highlighting Labuan as a vital centre of connection in the region.

Azhar Othman, Head, Secretariat of the Conference said it will also help promote Labuan not only as a credible international business and financial centre, but an attractive tourist destination within the context of the burgeoning integration of ASEAN Economic Community.

“It will also leverage on the timely launch of the Labuan Development Blueprint which spells out the long term development plan for Labuan,” said the statement.

Some 250 leading entrepreneurs, global managers, businessmen, policy-makers, corporate leaders, the academia, as well as the international AIM alumni are expected to participate as speakers and participants in the event.

Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department will officiate at the event and deliver his keynote address.

Among other highlights of the conference are:

● Two Plenary Sessions including one to be presented by an award-winning, former Philippines Secretary of Finance, Dr. Roberto F. de Ocampo and the other by a leading professor from Asian Institute of Management;

● A presentation by Labuan Financial Services Authority on opportunities at Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (IBFC);

● Four track sessions led by renowned speakers of their fields namely on Labuan Development Blueprint, managing growth and sustainability, tax-efficient wealth management, and regional logistics services respectively;

● A Business Matching Cocktail featuring leading players from Labuan financial industry and entrepreneurs from countries around the region. You are encouraged to participate in this;

There will be an art and photography exhibition on the side of the conference displaying works from local artistes and photographers.
