The incident came to light on Friday morning when the deceased’s family members saw his body hanging at the back on the second floor of the house.
The forensic team from the Labuan Hospital who had been rushed to the house confirmed the man was already dead.
Labuan acting police chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said the deceased was found dead by the family members who lodged police report at 9.30am.
“The deceased was allegedly committed suicide and the family members saw the man was hanging with rob strung up at the iron fence on the second floor of the house…they took him down before lodging the police report,” he said.
The police was investigating whether the deceased (name undisclosed) was under mental stress.
The body has been sent to the Labuan Hospital for a post-mortem.
He said police do not suspect foul play and have classified the case as a sudden death.
