Labuan Health Dept Assisted By 8 Healthcare Personnel From Kelantan

LABUAN: The Labuan Health Department has received eight healthcare personnel from its counterpart in Kelantan to help tackle the increase in COVID-19 cases on the island.

Labuan Health Department director, Dr Ismuni Bohari said the team would be assisting the Labuan COVID-19 squad for a month.

“We had requested for the mobilisation of healthcare personnel through the Ministry of Health…and today we received them, certainly their willingness to come to Labuan will help lift some weight off our shoulders,” he said during a briefing for the health officers upon their arrival at the Labuan Health Department, here, today.

Dr Ismuni said the team would be assigned to the Labuan health team in the COVID-19 targeted screening exercise in the water villages of Saguking in Sebor and Kg Patau-Patau 1 today.

“Importantly, Labuan is not a pandemic island, as only certain areas are affected. Therefore, there is nothing to worry about, as the situation is still under control,” he added.

Of the number from Kelantan, one is a medical officer from the Jeli District Health Office, three are assistant medical officers from the District Health Offices of Jeli, Kuala Krai and Pasir Puteh, and four are environmental health assistant officers from the Jeli and Kuala Krai District Health Offices.
