LABUAN: The Labuan Daiwa Deep Sea Fishing Challenge 2019 received an overwhelming support from both local and international anglers.
The three-day ended today (April 28) was participated by 94 anglers including 18 from Hong Kong in 11 boats.
The team from Lahad Datu of LDJU C with 95kg of catch won the challenge, followed by Labuan team of PCML with 72kg and another Lahad Datu team of LDJU A with 67kg.
The winner received RM35, 000, first runner up bagged RM10, 000 and RM5, 000 for the second runner up.
The organising chairman Aswadi Taba said this year’s event was challenging as some of the anglers were hit by huge wave and thunderstorms.
“We hope more anglers will again take part in the event next year,” he said.
