Kiara College Offers Sabahans Opportunity To ‘Work-Study’ In Germany

KOTA KINABALU: Kiara College has partnered with Germany Study Sdn Bhd to offer both Kiara College graduates and Sabahan youths alike to further their studies in Germany through a work-study scheme.

This was stated by Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Anuwar Ali, the chairman of Kiara College Board of Directors, at the College’s 3rd convocation ceremony held at Wisma Muis Saturday.

Anuwar also revealed that the the college is in the process of becoming a satellite campus for University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and is expected to offer postgraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees in 2020.

Kiara College marked its 3rd convocation with a ceremony accommodating 200 graduates from different fields on Saturday.

Some 116 graduates obtained their Diploma in Hospitality Management scrolls, while 49 and 40 others graduated with Corporate Administration diploma and Executive Secretaryship diploma respectively.

“A total of 75 per cent of our graduates have secured a permanent job right after completing their studies. Remarkably, some of them even hold positions in the upper management, especially in the hospitality field,” said Anuwar.

“This is good news to all the graduates as well as all the students of Kiara College; this proves that the college has successfully offered programmes that are relevant to the current requirement of the labour market,” he added.

Addressing the graduating cohort, he also urged them to continuously develop and enhance their skills and intellectual capacity, in line with the Industry Revolution 4.0.

He also encouraged the graduates of Kiara College to pursue higher education to further empower their knowledge and skills.
