JKR Urged To Tackle Clogged Drains Along Jalan Minintod

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Public Works Department (JKR) has been urged to tackle the clogged drains and overgrown grass at several areas along Jalan Minitod Bantayan, Penampang.

Warisan Luyang branch chief Samuel Wong said that following several complaints from the residents, he led a team to check and found clogged drains with thick undergrowth and mud along the drains in Jalan Minitod Bantayan main road, near Country Heights Apartment.

“I call upon JKR to rectify this issue immediately.”

“Undergrowth and mud is causing the water to stagnate in the drains and this can easily leads to flash floods.”

Local residents residing at this area had been voicing their concerns to the relevant authorities on numerous occasions but their pleas fell on deaf ears.
