COMMENT: Parti Cinta Sabah welcomes the suggestion by Parti Anak Negeri Sabah (PAN) President Henrynus Amin to unite the Kadazandusun, Murut and Rungus (KDMR) under one banner.
PCS is always supportive of the idea for total KDMR unity especially when other parties have already allocated the 60 state seats among themselves on a 60/40 basis without PCS or other genuine opposition parties who represent the KDM community in their equation.
Total KDM unity is paramount in our struggle in view of the current political demographic landscape in Sabah that was created to suite certain communities or political entities.
The interest of the KDMR community must be protected at all cost; the spirit and intent of the Keningau Batu Sumpah and the Malaysia Agreement 1963 must be honoured and respected in the ever changing political landscape of Malaysia.
This situation has made it even more necessary for the KDMR to be truly united by stepping out of the ‘divide and rule’ tactic created to split us into various political faction each with their own views and objectives.
Towards this end, the KDMR community is clearly politically divided. However, this does not mean that we are being racist or anything in that sense. History has shown us that whatever the case maybe with any political parties who designate their party as multi-racial and multi-cultural, when election time comes voters are being called out to vote along racial lines and the majority of the electorate do vote along racial lines, at least in most part of the rural areas.
Be that as it may, this doesn’t mean that we are moving away from our aim and objective in seeking to forge an electoral pact with Parti Warisan Sabah and Pakatan Harapan in the coming GE14. This also includes seeking to forge an electoral pact with other like-minded and genuine opposition parties whose struggle is also for total regime change both at state and federal level.
