He pointed out all the documents were issued during the previous administrations of PBS, Berjaya, Usno and the Barisan Nasional.
“So such statement (by Home Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin) is fake,” he told the Dewan Rakyat.
“The census cards and Kad Burung-Burung were issued during PBS’ time and the Berjaya era while the IMM13 was issued during Usno’s time in the 70s and 80s.
He said Hamzah should retract his statement and apologise to the house.
“According to Standing Order 36(12), any MP that issues a statement confusing the house is considered insulting the sitting and therefore could be referred to the committee,” he said.
“I am just bringing this up now because I wish to get an order from the speaker.
“In the Home Ministry’s winding up, the Larut MP had issued a statement that confused the sitting.”
Liew brought up the matter citing Standing Order 36(12) after Hamzah’s remarks on the said issue on Aug 4.
He claimed Hamzah had insulted the parliament sitting by saying Warisan had issued IMM13 documents.
Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun then requested Liew to submit an official motion on his claim that the Home Minister had made a confusing statement on the IMM13 document.
“If this matter is to be continued, then according to Standing Order 36(12) where anything that is confusing can be referred to the committee, please make such a written motion and submit it to my office,” he said.
