SANDAKAN: Sabahans must ensure that Warisan Plus wins the September 26 election by getting two-thirds majority, a DAP leader said Tuesday.

DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang said the state election was crucial in paving way to restore the people’s mandate for a fairer government in the coming 15th General Election.

He said Sabahans must have the perseverance for the realisation of a “New Sabah”.

“I wasn’t sure that we were able to win in the last general election but if we could achieve this then wouldn’t it be possible for us to return the people’s mandate for a fairer government and the betterment of the people?,” he said in a press conference in Tanjung Papat today.

Also present were DAP’s candidates for Tanjung Papat Frankie Poon, Calvin Chong for Elopura and Sandakan MP Vivian Wong.

Meanwhile, he said a total of 447 candidates will be contesting in the coming state election – the highest record in the country.

“This shows the people are largely divided in Sabah,” he said.
