Four More Cases In Sandakan

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded four more Covid-19 infections today, all involving Malaysians returning from the Philippines.

Caretaker Health and People’s Well-being Minister Datuk Frankie Poon said all these cases were detected in Sandakan, bringing cumulative cases in the state to 410 so far.

There are now 20 active cases still being treated statewide, with 10 in Sandakan, six in Penampang, two in the state capital and one each in Papar and Beluran.

He said three new recoveries were recorded today in Tawau, Tuaran and Kota Belud, bringing the overall total of recoveries to 382 cases.

Fatalities remain at eight.

Nationwide, 25 new positive cases were detected in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall total in the country to 9,063 cases.

The new cases involved 16 local transmissions and eight imported ones.

The active cases nationwide now number 210 including two being treated in the intensive care unit and one needing respiratory assistance.

Fifteen new recoveries were recorded at the same time, bringing the total to 8,728.

Deaths from Covid-19 infections remain at 125 cases in the country.
