TUARAN – Former Tuaran member of parliament Datuk Monggoh Orow and 156 followers have joined United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO).
Monggoh, who is also president of Pertubuhan Pelestarian Bahasa Lotud Sabah submitted their membership forms to UPKO acting president, Datuk Seri Madius Tangau.
The ceremony Friday night was witnessed by Tuaran Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Monggoh said the decision was not surprising because he was a former treasurer of the Sabah Democratic Party (PDS).
“UPKO was formerly known as PDS and at that time I was struggling for the people and now I decided to return to UPKO because I want to continue fighting for the people of Sabah.
“The state BN government has a lot to give for the development of Sabah, either in the city or in the rural areas. This is why I decided to continue to fight together with UPKO,” he told reporters after the ceremony.
