Former Head Of State Ahmadshah Named Winner of “Tokoh Maal Hijrah”

KOTA KINABALU – Former Head of State, Tun Haji Ahmadsah Abdullah was named as the “Tokoh Maal Hijrah” for this year’s award in conjunction with the first day of the month, in the Islamic calender.

Head of State, Tun Haji Juhar Haji Mahiruddin graced the event at Dewan Sri Putatan in Putatan near here Sunday.

Also present were Tun Juhar’s consort, Toh Puan Hajah Norlidah Tan Sri RM Jasni, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman and wife, Datin Seri Hajah Faridah Haji Tussin, State Assembly Speaker, Datuk Seri Panglima Syed Abas Syed Ali, Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Haji Yahya Hussin, State cabinet ministers, State secretary, Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, Federal secretary for Sabah, Datuk Borhan Dullah, Assistant ministers and elected representatives as well as heads of departments.

Other awards were Maal Hijrah special award which went to Datuk Haji Jamdin Buyong and the Saiditinah Khadijah award went to Datuk Siti Sapoo Ahok.

Kg Kinapuliton mosque in Ranau won the “Masjid Kahriah Cemerlang”, Kg Darat Menumbok’s Nur Islam (Surau Kahriah Cemerlang), SMK Tansau’s surau, Penampang won in the schools category and Kg Jawa’s muslim cemetary management won the Ar-Raudha award.

Tun Juhar presented the awards to all the winners.
