FCAS’ New Year Program Gets $upport From Chinese Community Leaders

KOTA KINABALU – More Chinese community leaders in the state are coming forward to financially support the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) in the organising of its Chinese New Year Carnival and gathering.

Among them were renowned Sabah real estate developer Datuk Francis Goh, who is also the president of Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) and Datuk Sia Yang Wei, who is also the Honorary Advisor for FCAS.

Both Francis and Sia also accepted the invitation to grace the two occasions during the courtesy call by the Central Committee of FCAS led by its president Datuk Seri Panglima T.C Goh.

They also had a constructive discussion on various pressing issues concerning the country, in particular the current economic situation.

Also present during the courtesy calls were FCAS vice president Datuk Chua Soon Ping, its treasurer general Fung Chun Fatt, and Central Committee members Ng Young Wah, Kapitan Peter Ma and Tan Guan Hock.

To recap, the 2017 Chinese New Year Carnival which is being jointly organised by FCAS and Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) will be held at the Padang Merdeka, from 23 to 26 January.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Hj Aman will be officiating at the opening ceremony while the closing ceremony will be officiated at by Datuk Teo Chee Kang, the Minister of Special Tasks.

As for the Chinese New Year Gathering, it will be held on the 5th day of the Chinese New Year i.e. 1 February, at the Wisma Hakka Banquet Hall. It will also be officiated by the Chief Minister.

Goh thus called on the Chinese community leaders, corporate leaders, and the public to come forward to support the event by purchasing the tickets for the dinner tables which are priced at RM1,000 and RM800, per table.
