SEMPORNA: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) has proposed the installation of a high-resolution ‘big eye’ camera at Pulau Bohey Dulang to enhance security control in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).
ESSCom chief executive officer Dr Jamaluddin Mohd Ali said the matter had been brought to the attention of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA).
“If there is this big eye it (the security control and monitoring by the security forces) will be more comprehensive, especially when coupled with the existing ‘Target Hardening’ radars located in strategic areas within ESSZone waters,” he said.
He said this when met after a working visit to Pulau Boheyan, Pulau Pom-Pom and Pulau Bohey Dulang to survey the ‘Target Hardening’ close-range radar system here, today.
During the visit which also aimed at boosting the morale of security personnel, Jamaluddin presented contributions in the form of face masks, hand sanitisers, gloves and personal safety protection (PPE) sets on behalf of ESSCom to those stationed on the three islands.
