Dorsett Grand Labuan Hosts Iftar For Special Needs Children, Tahfiz Students

LABUAN: Starting off the Ramadan with an act of kindness, Dorsett Grand Labuan Hotel put a smile on the faces of some 45 underprivileged children and Ma’ahad Tahfiz Al Quran Al Badr students with a special charity ‘Iftar’ as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.

Speaking on the occasion, its general manager Susan Carlos said, “at Dorsett Grand Labuan Hotel, we are dedicated to give back to the community where we operate, and there is no better time than the Ramadan to create this moment of generosity.

“We are delighted to host these special guests and share the true spirit of Ramadan with them,” she said.

Susan said the ‘Gift of Giving’ initiative, under which ‘Iftar’ events are held for special children, individuals with special needs, underprivileged children and families throughout the duty-free-island here, in an effort to give them a memorable Ramadan.

The hotel’s management team and media fraternity joined the children with special needs for a sumptuous ‘Iftar’ buffet, during which the children enjoyed delicious cuisine with their families and friends.

“Ramadan is that time of year where everyone’s focus turns towards charity, prayer and giving back to the community,” said its food and beverage manager Abd Rahman S Ahmad.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of the raya goodies and ‘duit raya’ to the special children from corporate bodies, which included Labuan Liberty port Management Sdn Bhd, Asia Supply Base Sdn Bhd, Victoria Food and Resources and Jamila Boutique among others.
