Do Not Campaign Near Electrical Installations – Energy Commission

PUTRAJAYA: The Energy Commission (ST) advises those conducting campaign activities near electrical installations in conjunction with the Sabah State Election to stop such activities because it is dangerous.

ST in a statement today reminded the people of an incident in 2018 when four people were injured due to electric shock while hoisting the flag of a political party in Johor and hope the people would heed the advice.

“Avoid engaging in dangerous activities during the election campaign such as hanging campaign materials on electric poles, pasting posters on electrical substations, supply boxes, electric poles or erecting poles under power lines,” it said.
