Covid-19: Sabah Records One New Case, One Recovery

KOTA KINABALU: One new Covid-19 case was registered in Nabawan Sunday and the total number of positive cases in the state has now increased to 380.

It was learned that the case in Nabawan was detected through a preoperative screening.

In his Facebook account, Health and People’s Well-being Minister Datuk Frankie Poon, Ranau has turned into a green zone district with its last active case recovered today.

Sabah is now left with six active cases involving four districts, which are Kota Kinabalu and Nabawan with two active cases, as well as Tuaran and Keningau each with one case.

The latest recovery recorded in Ranau has tallied the total number of recovered patients in the state to 367.

Nationwide, 14 more new cases were announced today with three categorised as imported cases involving Malaysians, bringing the tally of Covid-19 infection to 8,718.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the rest were local transmissions with eight involving foreigners at the Sepang detention depot while the other three are Malaysians.

One of the local Malaysian cases were reported in Sabah while the rest are from a newly discovered cluster in Kuching, Sarawak.

The total number of active cases in Malaysia now stands at 77 with four new recoveries reported today which has brought the number of recovered patients in the country to 8,519.

No new deaths were reported today and the overall number Covid-19 fatalities death remains at 122.
