COVID-19: Four More Sabah NRD Offices Closed

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) has closed four more of its offices effective yesterday (Oct 18) to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Its director, Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin, in a statement today said the closure involved its offices in Kudat, Ranau, Beaufort and Tambunan.

He said previously the department had closed its offices in 16 districts declared as COVID-19 red zones, starting with Tawau on Sept 29.

Khairrul Aminus said the offices would be closed until a date to be announced later.

Yesterday, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sabah was still the state with the highest number of new Covid-19 cases, reporting 702 cases or 80.6 per cent of the 871 cases reported in Malaysia.
